My Cluttered Mind

Here's a few random thoughts that have been milling around in my brain this week:

- It's been a great first week of work with Tyndale.  I was realizing today again how much I really like working in the Christian higher ed field and how excited I am to work for Tyndale.  It's great connecting with local church and ministry leaders and telling them about a school that is truly on the move.

- Part of being a parent I think is creating a series of memories for your children.  They may not necessarily remember every moment but collectively they leave (hopefully) a positive impression.

- I was thinking today of a time in high school where Dad was so busy working that he forgot to drive me to a hockey game.  I ended up being late and not getting to play.  He felt really bad--I remember that distinctly.  It occurred to me that this was one of the very few "mistakes" I ever remember Dad making when I was a kid which is why I remember it so well.  I hope my kids remember my mistakes--then I'll know I'm a great Dad.

- I need to start keeping a private journal again.  I did it fairly regularly during a phase in my life and occasionally have come back to it over the years.  Nothing for a while though and there are things that I think are worth saying but not for public consumption at this point.  I wish I could share them but it wouldn't be right. I want to get them on paper though.

- Guess where I'm going with the boys in a couple of weeks?  Awesome!!!

Are you still working or St. Stephens too?

Nope...I left SSU at the end of February. They'll always be "my school" but I'm loving working for Tyndale now.
